Ashura, Kabirwala and media bias…

In continuation to my yesterday's post, let me share couple of harsh truths. I am writing this due to blunt lies printed in daily Khabrain on 30 December.

The newspaper tells me that the procession breached the rules. Those who have been reprimanded have used the same street for many years. It was not a procession but a smaller chunk that were going to Imambargah. Also the procession stopped for three hours. The procession on Ashura starts at 8:00 am and finishes at 4:00 pm. This routine was also followed this year and jaloos ended in time. This blatant lie only seconds media bias towards matam and azadari.

Media stupidity needs correction, and only people in Kabirwala can resolve differences.

Before you take on your rivals….

"Imagine, you have given everything in last days, have used every tactic in rule book; you are content that everything is in order. Then you hear that the town has been touched by another wave of hatred and is being rocked by chants of Kafir Kafir", my friend while narrating his first hand account was sad….

It happened in the evening of Yume Ashura on 28th December, when fanatics from the town gathered in the name of Sahaba R.A. Reason: the story goes that nomads (pakhi waas/ jhugiwalas) broke the route and provoked anger within Sunni community. It's worth mentioning here that for many years these poor people have been using the same route to reach Imambargah Bhutianwala, Kabirwala. This anger supported with bad intent started something that had to potential to blow the whole town. Once again Kabirwala on fire, yes it was possible. The pressure was built on administration and FIR was registered against the innocents.

But why this was done?

The main brain behind this whole saga has the history of using sect for personal benefits. Only few years ago, this guy put a "haar" on a dog's neck with the name of a sahabi, and tried to create rift in Chak Sher Khan. This time, this guy has stake in Fauji ground and wants Jhugiwalas kicked out. Anyone touched by this issue, please remember that this is not for religion. This is effort for complete control of Fauji parao and ground.

A humble suggestion to my friends – Before you take on your rivals, please revisit the intentions of your leaders. May be a dog bearing the name of respected personality is being fed by your own…

In the name of honour…

I am reading newspapers and as usual sadness rules. I have lived in Kabirwala for many years, besides all bad things, it has been tolerant place. But for the last 20-25 years, a lot has changed. Whatever they do outside, they hold high morals at home. Many of best friends are worst human beings in their character. I am not judge of anybody's character but in this moment of truth, I would like to acknowledge human short comings. They argue that honour needs to be restored, even if its needs tough decisions like killing the culprit.

No body wants to know, why the girl eloped at the first place? Read the following story at decide yourself, that where in this case any intervention could have saved a life.

Parveen BiBi (18 years old) of Chah Mohammad Wala was married to her cousin Saleem 3 years ago. She eloped with Mohammad Ismaeel from her own family, and she was returned through mediators. She left again three weeks where she gave birth to a daughter. Few days ago, she was brought back again. She was killed by her uncle Jevan Naich and cousin Ghulam Hussain. As of today, her daughter is 22 days old. The case has been registered.
